Accessibility Statement

This statement was last updated on August 8, 2025.

We at Patient Care 101, are working to make our site PatientCare101.org accessible to people with disabilities.

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

Accessibility Features and Tools

To improve the user experience for individuals with disabilities, we have implemented the following accessibility features:

  • Text Alternatives: Providing alternative text for non-text content, such as images, to ensure it can be converted into other forms like large print, braille, or speech.

  • Keyboard Navigation: Ensuring that all interactive elements are accessible via keyboard for users who cannot use a mouse.

  • Color Contrast: Maintaining sufficient contrast between text and background colors to assist users with low vision or color blindness.

  • Accessible Forms: Designing forms that are easy to navigate and complete using assistive technologies.

Compliance with Accessibility Standards

In alignment with Tennessee state policies, we aim to adhere to the Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which mandates that federal agencies’ electronic and information technology be accessible to individuals with disabilities. While this federal standard primarily applies to government entities, we adopt its principles to enhance the accessibility of our website for all users.

Additionally, we are working towards meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which are internationally recognized guidelines developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) to improve web accessibility for people with disabilities.

Known Accessibility Limitations

While we strive to make our website fully accessible, there may be areas that require further improvement. We are continuously working to identify and address any accessibility barriers to enhance the user experience for all visitors.
